As most of you have read or heard through the grapevine, we have recently picked up Plantronics as a sponsor for our future events and such. And well with that comes amazing prizes for all of you! We have a total of 4 headsets to give away! The first headset we will be giving away is the Plantronics Gamecom X40 headset. It is made for the Xbox 360.

Rich stereo sound is delivered through the Plantronics GameCom X40 Stereo Gaming Headset’s 40-millimeter speakers for an immersive audio experience, and the closed-ear design allows you to turn up the headset volume to play games, listen to music, and watch movies without disturbing others. The boom microphone can be tucked easily into the headband and out of the way when you’re not using it, or when you need a quick drink or snack. The mic is equipped with noise-canceling technology, which is designed to reduce background noise and enhance the accuracy of the sounds being transmitted.

Sporting a sleek, modern look that coordinates with the Xbox 360, the GameCom X40 has an adjustable headband that fits over your head. It’s built to stay comfortable even when worn for long periods. It features earpods and a headband specially designed to redistribute pressure.

Now you are probably wondering what you have to do enter for your chance to win a pair of these. It is actually pretty easy. Leave a comment below explaining why you need or want this new headset. (ex: what it is replacing, and pics are always encouraged) The last day for entry is January 31st at 11:59PM PST. The winner will be announced during the KILLCAST on February 4. Good luck everyone!

    I actually want them for my best friend. He only gets to play at night when everyones asleep so he is always gaming in silence, I wanted to get him a pair of Turtle Beaches but mine are acting up after only a few months so I don’t want it to be a waste for him.

    At the moment he is playing Dead Space 2 without sound, hes not enjoying it much.

    Hey i really need this headset cause my two other xbox headsets have broken due to my dog steppin on it and cracking the top of them. Also the most recent one i had now only works half of the time. I game every day with games such as CoD SSf4. and other games.

    I need one of these headsets because my current headset is broken. I have the headset that comes with the xbox and it is broken in half at the top so now i have to like hold the mic up to talk to and listen to people. Also my mic messes up others ears because it does some weird thing were it makes some static noise and just destroys everybody’s ears.

    I currently use an old pair of Skullcandies (The ones that fold up to fit in a ski jacket) for my headphones. They work, and they get the job done, but after wearing them for more than 15 minutes, my ears start to get sore and I have to keep adjusting the positions of the pads on them to relieve the pain.

    I need this pair because where I live, there are several hibernating bears that if awoken before the first thaw will viciously rip out my intestines and devour them as they steam in the cool Chicago air. I don’t want this; I happen to enjoy my intestines right where they are. I also need them, for, you know… /stuff/.

    Since I don’t want to upset the delicate balance between life and death any more than it already is, I would love to have a pair of these beautiful headphones.

    I would love to win a Plantronics Gamecom X40 headset because the included mic would make chatting with friends while gaming easier and all while maintaining a great audio experience! Right now I have a separate audio headset and a separate wireless headset mic and it’s a pain having to wear both at the same time! XD

    I run a clan that is 600+ members strong on console and PC. With our competitive teams, fun members, and business work i have to go through for meetings. I feel this head set will do me justice and that the fact i could use them would be huge for me and my clan. Relating the quality and use of this headset to my clan to pick these up for multipurpose use. I have been gaming for years and plantronics always makes good headsets and hardware thats a must have. Also i do commentarys for my clan and friends on Youtube. So this headset will get a work out. Thank you for letting me enter.

    To Those That Possess These Epic Headphones-

    Once Upon a Time I started playing video games. When I say Once Upon a Time, I mean I was six years old and rockin’ out on Pitfall on my Atari 2600. Aside from cigarettes and other miscellaneous habits, gaming is my addiction. Might I add that I’m a girl… a very HOT girl that plays video games.

    Now I’m in the age of XBox 360, playing games that require me to be involved in parties. I’m ‘unrockin’ the original POS headset that came with my system, and we all know what a joke those are. They make them crappy on purpose, I think, but I digress. I want to be that hot bitch that can hear and is HEARD when she PWNS people at Need for Speed, or verbally bitchslaps jerkwads trying to hit on me in other numerous games.

    If I win these headphones, I will rub them ALL OVER MY BODY in appreciation. I’ll even take pics if that seals the deal.

    I desperately need these headsets because I would love to play on my XBOX 360 with full blast sound without disturbing my room mates.

    They also look like they would be sweet to use for VoIP purposes, which I use a lot of for work.

    Not to mention, they look pretty stylish as well.

    Hey guys, I’m a college student, and you all know that means I’m broke as anything. Currently I don’t even have a head set to call my own, just a pair of cheap ear buds, that a horrible. I’m in the terrible position of not being able to afford anything for the time being, and this headset would be a fantastic treasure that I would hold dear forever!

    Well, I had this beautiful and great-sounding pair of Bose headphones, but then, for some godforsaken reason, the base of them gets all effed up, and then the left ear goes out.

    About a week later, the 1/8th inch jack of the cord just completely falls off.

    I was sad panda.

    I am currently using one of the cheap headsets that comes with the Xbox, but lately the mic has been going in & out when I use it…it is quite frustrating…

    I think it is high time to say good-bye to my cheap old headset…and it would be even nicer to say hello to a Plantronics GameCom X40 Stereo Gaming Headset.
