PSN Taking Heavy Hacking Hits

On Tuesday April 19, PSN was shut down completely for reasons unknown. Yesterday Sony came forth to announce that all PSN and Quriosity accounts were compromised, placing panic to its users everywhere. Basic information that was compromised: Name, Date of Birth, Address, Email address, PSN User ID and password. There is also high speculation that credit card information was also compromised. There have been several of reports of PSN users having unfamiliar charges made to their listed credit card, some as high as $3,000. Because PSN and Quriosity is offline, users are not able to access and remove their information. To those effected your best bet is to monitor your credit card’s activity, or to cancel your card and have another reissued.

Here Sony provides information on how to proceed with how to protect your information: [PS Blog]

At least we’re not liable for fraudulent use and CC companies are pretty good on that stuff, even too good preventing you from using your card at times! =D
