Origin PC: Building the Future, One PC at a Time

In the late 90s, I was introduced to the concept of online gaming on the PC, and at the time, the most coveted computer was an Alienware. Over the years, Alienware became less and less appealing, overcharging for parts and not building machines to people’s wants. Also, with the ability to buy parts cheap and build my own PC, my need for buying a pre made PC doesn’t really exist. However, Origin PC is a new high-end custom PC builder, and they are doing customization right.

At Origin, their company mantra seems to be do what the customer wants; with an impressive list of components at their disposal, Origin goes above and beyond. Also, if they don’t have something listed that you may want, you can call them and they will do it for you, this includes certain paint jobs also.

Origin has several different tiers of PC builds: Chronos, Millennium, and Genesis. The Chronos PCs start at $919.00, which is a fair price for what you are getting. As you move up to the higher tiers, the cases get bigger, and the possibilities grow with them.

At E3, I was able to get some hands on time with the Genesis model PCs, and these machines weren’t just aesthetically pleasing, they were fast. Upon first glance, I saw a big side window with red light shining out, and visible red water-cooling tubes—you can customize both of these things. I opened up the PC and saw something that made me feel like I put no care into my PC builds. The inside of this PC was immaculate. The wires were all out of sight, the water cooling system was installed in a way that wasn’t at all intrusive, and all the components inside the case were easily accessible.

One of the more interesting PCs sold by Origin was one that they didn’t have at E3, which is known as the Big O. The Big O consists of a water cooled PC as well as a water cooled Xbox 360 Slim. Although, the idea seems a bit asinine, at least you know that your 360 should have sufficient cooling.

Origin PC is a company whose founders came from Alienware, and that can be seen from their ambition to build high-end machines. Although the company is only 1 ½ years old, they have solid product, and they continue to add the newest components as they release. Check out Origin PCs website here.
