Razer Takes It To The Cloud

If you’ve ever used gaming mice and keyboards, then you are aware of the painstaking process of configuring your peripherals so that they fit like a glove. As someone who has had 3 different PCs in the last 4 years, I know the pain all too well. As if my gaming habit wasn’t nerdy enough, my folder that contains my TV calibration settings and profile set ups for mice and keyboards puts the icing on the “not getting laid” cake.

Luckily, today, Razer has announced a new service called Synapse 2.0. Synapse is a cloud-saving service for your Razer gaming peripherals. No longer will you have to write down or remember your profile settings. The cloud service is something I would love to see other companies start as well, because, in hindsight, it seems ridiculous that this kind of service isn’t standard yet.

Sadly, there is a catch to this service. That catch is that Synapse 2.0 is in beta and will only be supporting the Legacy line of products and any new products releasing after its inception, which means you will be spending some cash to buy new products. If you are someone who likes to upgrade, or will be buying the sweet Star Wars: The Old Republic line of products, then you are in luck.

In addition to the cloud storage, Synapse 2.0 will be the way to update your peripherals, and it will also allow for backwards compatibility for the products you own.

If you wish to sign up for the Synapse 2.0 beta, click here. The concept is amazing, but let’s hope the execution lives up to the standard of excellence that Razer has established.
